IBA is seeking a Senior Investment Manager to join the Direct Investments team to drive the growth in demand, particularly in the renewable energy / carbon abatement sector. This is an opportunity to make a difference, doing transactions that ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are not just partners, but also equity owners in the energy transition.

The Senior Investment Manager will be responsible for:

·        Sourcing, evaluating and executing high quality investments (both debt and equity) with a particular focus on renewable energy / carbon abatement. This will include financial modelling, undertaking comprehensive due diligence, Investment Committee approvals, negotiations, structuring, reviewing legal documentation.

·        The management of allocated investments including liaising with nominee directors and attending Board and other stakeholder meetings when required.

·        Provision of timely, clear and concise papers and reporting to keep relevant stakeholders well informed on investment and portfolio financial and impact performance, emerging risks, recommendations and investment exits.

·        Effective risk management.

·        Representing and promoting IBA at events, conferences and meetings and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

·        Contributing to the building and management of a high-performance Direct Investments team where you drive innovation and lead by example.

What you’ll bring to the team:

·        Strong renewable energy / carbon abatement investment or transaction expertise (may be debt or equity)

·        A desire to make a difference and the cultural capability to build relationships and communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

·        Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline plus relevant professional qualifications such as CPA/CA, CFA, (E) MBA, MAppFin or MCom

·        Self-motivated, results-oriented and ability to take ownership of transactions and drive them to completion, while exercising appropriate commercial judgement

·        Well-developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines

·        A high level of attention to detail and diligence, supported by a strong work ethic

·        Willingness and ability to undertake regional and remote travel, including overnight absences as required
