We are working with a leading Australian alternative asset manager specialising in private debt, targeting mid-market companies in Australia and New Zealand. With over $1 billion of capital under management and a strong track record since its establishment, the firm focuses on delivering tailored financing where traditional lenders are less active. Positioned for continued growth, this opportunity offers a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment for experienced professionals seeking to make a real impact. In addition, this senior role offers the chance to shape origination strategy and play a key part in the firm’s continued growth.
You will be responsible for sourcing and originating private debt opportunities across the Australian and New Zealand mid-market space. Using your network, you will identify and structure senior secured, unitranche, mezzanine, and bespoke credit transactions, while maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities. You will work closely with sponsors, borrowers and intermediaries, representing the firm at industry events and monitoring market trends to support strategic investment decisions.
The ideal candidate will bring 8–12 years’ experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking, or direct lending, with a proven track record of originating and executing transactions. Strong sponsor, advisor, and borrower relationships are essential, along with deep knowledge of credit underwriting, capital structures, and legal documentation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to credibly represent the firm externally are also required.
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial self-starter to join a well-capitalised and ambitious private credit platform. You will have direct impact on the firm’s growth and benefit from a collaborative, deal-driven environment.
Applicants must have full working rights in place for Australia to be considered for this opportunity.
