Our client is a successful private real estate debt investor with a well-capitalised global partner. As a key senior hire, you will work closely with the Head of Origination and Chief Executive Officer as well as alongside the broader leadership team. Key is developing the firm’s distribution and access to the commercial real estate debt market – part of a growing business, driving and managing the firm’s overall lending portfolio and delivering alternative debt solutions to clients across Australia.
You will be responsible for originating new lending/investment opportunities broadly in the $3-30m range and retaining and managing existing relationships, including broker networks and direct channels. In addition, a key aspect of the role will to be conduct credit analysis and underwriting, as well as taking the lead on structuring and negotiation of loan terms in alignment to the firm’s investment criteria.
You will have appropriate tertiary qualifications, with 10+ years’ experience gained in a bank or private credit fund with a proven track record in business development and origination and an advanced knowledge in commercial real estate, as well as strong underlying credit risk analysis and management skills. Proven management and leadership experience - preferably developing and mentoring juniors - and excellent communication and presentation skills are well regarded, along with a self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset.
