Our client is a Private Investment Office investing across numerous asset classes, geographies and liquidity profiles with a long-term strategic asset allocation approach seeking to provide the investors with diversification, capital preservation and growth. They are currently seeking an Investment Associate to join their small team of investment professionals in Melbourne.
You will support the Head of Investments in managing investments in funds and co-investments across unlisted asset classes, including credit, property, infrastructure, private equity and venture capital.
You will have multiple responsibilities including:
- Assist in sourcing potential investments and contributing to initial investment screening
- Contribute to the development of the firm’s investment themes and identifying future opportunities
- Conduct financial analysis & modelling including creating, maintaining, improving, & reviewing various excel spreadsheets and financial models
- Undertake the initial evaluation of investment opportunities including pre-screening of investment proposals and pitch decks, preparing reports for senior stakeholders on the viability and validity of proposals
- Undertake commercial & financial due diligence, performing market research & financial analysis, including review of historic & prospective financial information on potential investments under the guidance of senior investment team members
- Contribute to the drafting of investment papers for review by the Head of Investments before submission to Investment Committees & Board
- Proactively monitor existing investments and relationships
- Monitoring of market statistics & preparation of regular market updates
- Assist with other portfolio management duties & miscellaneous projects as required
This is an exceptional opportunity to establish or further develop your career in the investment management world within a highly supportive and collaborative investment team. Ideally, you will have ~3-6 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate advisory, funds management or Big 4 Advisory with demonstrable transaction/deal experience.

- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Economics/Business or similar & will have completed or be working towards postgraduate qualifications with CFA highly regarded
