Our client is a leading Private Equity firm based in Sydney, focused on investing in high-growth businesses throughout Australia and New Zealand across a range of sectors including Technology, Healthcare, Business Services, Financial Services & Education. They work closely with ambitious business owners and management teams, providing strategic guidance to accelerate growth and build value and long-term success.

The firm is seeking to add two new members to their Origination team, one at the Analyst and one at the Senior Analyst level, to provide research and origination support across both the Business Services and Financial Services sectors. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, energetic and collegiate team and will allow the role holders to build out a career supporting a highly successful investment team.

As an Originator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting deep industry and company research to identify potential investment opportunities
  • Driving pipeline management through monitoring origination efforts and targets
  • Identifying attractive sub-sectors and niches within the relevant sector focus
  • Using desktop research tools and industry networks to identify potential investee companies and unlock opportunities through direct calls and meetings
  • Generating insights for the investment team through comprehensive analysis of market dynamics, industry shifts and competitor landscape
  • Preparation of detailed research summaries and reports that will ensure successful management of the pipeline

The successful candidates will be degree educated and at the Analyst level will have ideally ~6 months to 2 years' work experience, whilst at the Senior Analyst level will likely have gained 2-4 years' work experience. Prior experience will have been gained from a variety of backgrounds including, but not limited to, industry expert providers, sales and data support, strategy consulting, wealth management or transaction services within an accounting firm. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with a broad range of people at all levels of a business including Founders and CEO’s, as well as display a proactive, energetic and positive attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
