JMES are partnering with a highly regarded Australian private equity firm as they seek to appoint a commercially minded Associate to join their investment team. The firm has an established and successful proven track record of investing in Australia and is recognised for its hands-on, operationally focused investment approach. This opportunity offers significantly broader exposure than a traditional execution-only private equity role, with Associates working closely alongside portfolio company management teams to drive operational improvement, strategic initiatives and long-term value creation.
Working as part of a high-performing team, you will be involved across the full investment lifecycle, including
- Evaluating new investment opportunities
- Financial modelling and commercial analysis
- Transaction execution and due diligence
- Portfolio management and operational initiatives and supporting management teams on strategic projects
- Board preparation and stakeholder engagement
The role provides meaningful exposure to portfolio company operations and the opportunity to work directly with senior investment professionals and management teams.
Successful candidates will have ideally gained 3-4 years corporate advisory experience in either an investment bank or leading independent firm. Candidates will have gained strong deal experience and will have excellent financial modelling and analytical skills. Key to success will be a genuine interest and curiosity in investing along with first class interpersonal skills and a humble and down-to-earth manner.
