Our client is a high-growth business acquiring, developing and managing land-based and real asset projects across Australia. Backed by sophisticated institutional capital, the organisation is investing significantly in long-term assets with a focus on sustainability, operational excellence and value creation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the finance function while partnering with the leadership team on commercial and strategic initiatives. This is a broad, hands-on role offering genuine influence over the direction of the business and a clear pathway to Chief Financial Officer as the platform continues to grow.
The Opportunity
You will own the finance function across a growing portfolio of operating assets and projects, helping establish the systems, controls and reporting frameworks required to support rapid expansion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Managing budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning
- Overseeing statutory reporting, tax, audit and compliance
- Managing treasury, cash flow and financial controls
- Partnering with leadership on commercial analysis and strategic decision-making
- Supporting project budgeting, supplier management and financial governance
- Building scalable finance processes and systems to underpin future growth
About You
You are a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating in an entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
You will likely bring:
- CA qualification
- Big Four or equivalent top-tier training
- Experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior finance leader
- Strong technical accounting, reporting and financial control capability
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to support commercial decisions
- The ability to build processes, solve problems and operate with autonomy in a scaling business
Experience within infrastructure, energy, property, agriculture, industrials or other asset-intensive sectors will be viewed favourably, although industry background is less important than the calibre, ambition and leadership potential of the successful candidate.
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-capitalised organisation at an exciting stage of growth, working directly with the CEO to shape the finance function while positioning yourself for future executive leadership. The business offers a highly flexible working environment and is open to exceptional candidates based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Canberra, making it an ideal opportunity for someone seeking both impact and flexibility.
Applicants must have full working rights in place for Australia to be considered for this role.
