My client is a global technology business, listed on the ASX, with an internationally recognized product and brand. The firm is a global leader in its field, has an Executive Team based in the US with deep expertise in the tech. scene and has a mandate to take new and existing products into emerging markets.  With these growth ambitions in mind, my client is looking to hire an Executive General Manager, Corporate Development to lead and shape their global Corporate Development agenda.

The purpose of the role is to source and execute M&A transactions of all shapes and sizes and sponsor the integration of these businesses to build the firm’s product stack, allow the firm to move into adjacent areas and differentiate its go-to-market offering.

The key functional accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for both Corporate Development and Integration, ensuring tight alignment to the firm’s overall growth strategy
  • Drive the development, evolution and execution of M&A mandate and provide strategic input to the ELT on other aspects of the firm’s broader direction and trajectory
  • Ownership of the global M&A integration strategy and methodology and contribute to value creation and change management initiatives
  • Be a leader of leaders and ensure that those reporting into you have the opportunity to lead initiatives and develop their own careers and pathways
  • Build a world class M&A function and brand

The successful candidate will have 15+ years’ experience years’ relevant experience across a combination of Corporate Development & Strategy, Private Equity/Investment Management, Investment Banking and/or Tier-1 Management Consulting.

This individual will have a proven track record in not only successfully sourcing, executing and integrating strategic acquisitions, but also have experience driving results through a complex corporate structure. Proven results working at the Executive and Board level and  experience working on cross-border deals will be highly regarded.

It goes without saying that this candidate must have the gravitas, polish and leadership ability to both handle and influence a diverse array of stakeholders and to lead an established team of high performers.
