Our client is a Melbourne CBD-based private equity investment firm with a high-performance, hands-on approach to value creation. They look to invest in and grow businesses across a range of industries, working closely with management teams to drive operational improvements and strategic growth. With committed capital from highly esteemed LP’s and the HNW community they are looking for a talented analyst to support the deployment of capital in the market.

Reporting to the Founding Partner and part of a small, cohesive team, your responsibilities will be diverse including:

• Acquisition Due Diligence – Supporting transaction processes, including rigorous assessment of historical & current financials, assisting in the development of investment thesis

• Financial Analysis & Reporting – Conducting complex analysis, identifying trends, & presenting actionable financial insights

• Data Investigation – Interrogating financial data, identifying anomalies & proactively surfacing inconsistencies

• Portfolio Support – Assisting portfolio company management with ad-hoc financial projects, helping to identify operational improvements & performance drivers across a variety of industries

• Investment Evaluation – Building robust financial models & valuations, conducting market & industry research & collaborating with senior team members on potential acquisitions

• Outstanding analytical skills with an inquisitive mindset & meticulous attention to detail

• Strong commercial acumen & the ability to quickly understand diverse business models, financial systems & performance drivers

• A deep understanding of accounting, financial analysis & business information systems

• The ability to simplify complex financial data into clear, compelling insights for decision-making.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on driving business efficiency & operational improvement

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently & collaboratively

• Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of an organisation.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a group of internationally experienced professionals, who have a long term “Buffetesque” investment mindset. You will have at least 2 years of experience in financial, business, or investment analysis gained within an investment banking, corporate finance, strategy consulting, equity research (sell or buyside) or top-tier commercial roles.
