About the Opportunity
Investment Manager – Venture Capital

• VC fund with top-quartile performance for over a decade

• Opportunity to build a brand and lead an active investment mandate

• Thoughtful, innovative and intellectually curious culture

Our client is a high-performing Venture Capital firm investing in and being long term partners to founders and businesses in advanced technology across the ANZ region. The firm has a uniquely rigorous and disciplined investment style that has allowed it to perform in the top quartile for all of its funds globally. The firm has had a successful start to the year having recently deployed a significant portion of capital, with plenty still to be deployed, along with the near completion of a fundraise that will allow the team to continue to invest in and partner with high-potential Founders and their businesses. With this in mind, they are looking to hire an Investment Manager to join the team based in Sydney.

The Investment Manager will be an intellectually curious investment professional with genuine excitement in finding the next startup, deep interest in a broad range of advanced technology investments and who wants to play a pivotal role in the broader investment activity of a genuinely successful VC firm. Key responsibilities will include:

• Direct support to the Principals and Partners in identifying and sourcing unique investment opportunities for the Fund, not least through the refinement of your own “sense” for a good investment and business operations

• Triage and manage investment processes and the development of investment recommendations

• Drive due diligence, prepare supporting documentation and undertake broader investment activities to ensure smooth execution of investments

• Active engagement with Founders and portfolio companies to support growth and value creation

Successful candidates will have a genuine interest in technology and a clear intellectual curiosity in relation to investing and participating in the growth of this space. Through time spent and experience in similar principal investing roles, the candidate will have well developed financial modelling and analysis skills but will also have the ability to derive deeper insights beyond what the numbers tell you. As a part of a small, high-performing investment team, the candidate will also be someone who is happy to hustle, happy to be productively and professionally challenged on their ideas and show the ability to independently drive for positive outcomes.

Applicants must have full working rights for Australia in place to be considered for the opportunity.
