Our client is an innovative, high-profile private capital backed technology business. They have a significant and expanding presence across Australia, New Zealand and Asia with ambitions to rapidly scale, sustain and expand its cutting edge product offering across this region and into new geographies. In order to fund and sustain these growth plans, they are seeking to hire a Director into their Treasury & Capital Markets team based in Sydney or Melbourne, with broader responsibility for key initiatives across the APAC region.
Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you will be based in Sydney, tasked with the role to develop and expand the firm's best-in-class Treasury & Capital Markets function. With particular focus, you will ensure the function's Risk & Operations capabilities are fit for purpose to support the firm's continued expansion. This is a leadership role with significant visibility and opportunity to influence the internal and external direction taken by the function and the firm.
With these factors in mind, your key Responsibilities will include:
- Involvement and collaboration with the broader Treasury & Capital Markets function on the origination through to financial close of loans, bonds and other debt instruments
- Develop, execute and maintain strategies to manage financial risk including FX, interest rate, funding and refinancing risks
- Continued refinement of best-in-class treasury framework, policies and financial governance
- Provision of centralised treasury operations and risk management support to the broader business including managing debt, credit analysis and board reporting
- Work collaboratively with internal finance and tax functions to develop and maintain an optimal capital management strategy
- Drive group treasury initiatives and process improvements with a focus on Risk and Operations
- Lead and manage a team of Risk and Operations professionals with in Australia and abroad
To be successful, it is expected that you will have the following skills and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree (or above) in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or similar field
- 12 years' + previous corporate treasury experience ideally in a Bank, Fund or Corporate with an international footprint
- Debt origination, structuring, execution and reporting experience, ideally covering real assets, commercial real estate/REIT and/or development finance
- The ability to think strategically and thrive in a fast paced and fluid environment
- Effective communication with ability to influence key stakeholders and develop a strong internal network
- Strong attention to detail, integrity and ambition
