JMES is partnering with this leading global investment bank to appoint an APAC Debt Syndicate professional within its Global Markets platform. This newly created position will play a key role in the continued development of the bank’s AUD Debt Markets capability, with a particular focus on Kangaroo credit issuers, selected local issuers / ADIs and broader APAC syndicate activity.
The position will focus on developing the bank’s AUD primary business and strategy, managing and executing AUD transactions, providing pricing updates and market intelligence to issuer clients, and preparing pitch materials including market updates, trade ideas, secondary flow insights and bank credentials. You will also help increase the global DCM team’s understanding of the AUD bond market and ensure relevant issuer clients are being actively covered for AUD opportunities.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role working closely with DCM, Sales, Credit Trading, AUD Rates Trading, Cross-currency Basis, Risk, Middle office and Back-office teams. Externally, the role involves building and maintaining relationships with corporate and financial institution issuers globally, Asian SSA issuers, key investors, other syndicate desks and relevant market publications.
It is expected that you will have strong experience in AUD Primary Debt Markets, ideally gained across AUD syndicate, DCM syndicate, Kangaroo bond issuance, FIG / corporate origination, SSA issuance, rates / credit syndicate or broader primary markets execution. You will bring strong technical market knowledge, sound execution capability, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate confidently across issuer, investor and internal trading / sales channels.
This is a unique opportunity to join a global platform at a key point in the build-out of its AUD primary markets capability across APAC.
