My client has a genuinely global reach and network which has proven invaluable from both a deal sourcing and value-add to portfolio companies perspective. With significant momentum behind the platform and an incredibly healthy pipeline, they are now looking to hire a Lead Investor into their team based in Sydney.
The Lead Investor plays a critical role in the success of the strategy and is responsible for leading sustainability focused deals through the entire investment process. The role will be responsible for everything from building a strong pipeline of global deal flow, evaluation of potential deals, conducting due diligence, developing the investment case and subsequently leading the execution of the investment.
This is a key appointment for the team and we are looking for someone who brings 7+ years’ experience working in direct investment, investment banking, M&A advisory or transaction-focused corporate development. We will also consider profiles outside of these areas if they bring demonstrable transaction experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for sustainability investing, a desire to understand new industries and businesses and display a genuine curiosity in how they approach investing. This candidate will be joining a data-driven, collaborative team with a flat structure and “no ego” culture where a desire to be in the detail and to be hands on is considered an imperative. Finally, we need someone who is commercially minded in their critical assessment of investment opportunities whilst remaining open-minded and inquisitive, as befits a genuinely broad and unique investment mandate.
