• Australia’s leading greenfield infrastructure/energy investor & developer
• Join a team with an outstanding track record & unparalleled pipeline
• Highly active mandate across energy transition, digital & social infrastructure
My client is Australia’s leading originator, investor and developer of greenfield infrastructure and energy transition projects. Over the past ~20 years, they have built an unparalleled track record of development and investment in a broad range of energy transition and infrastructure projects with now over $70 billion worth of projects and assets delivered. Boasting a unique integrated platform and specialist expertise in the sector, my client can consistently deliver the best solutions for sustainable, innovative outcomes. Along with their continued commitment to investing in Australia’s energy transition and track record in infrastructure, my client is now moving into new areas of investment, including digital and social infrastructure. Given the strength of this pipeline, there is now a need to hire an Investment Director into the team based in Sydney.
The Investment Director role will lead the finance workstream for my client’s broader greenfield infrastructure and renewable activities, with direct involvement in sourcing, developing, closing and investing new investments. The role’s key responsibilities will include:
• Sourcing & screening new investment opportunities & facilitating consortium partner selection
• Leading execution of equity investments; including oversight of due diligence, risk allocation & participation in commercial interactions with relevant parties
• Arranging debt, financial structuring & securing binding finance commitments
• Managing relationships with financiers, consortium partners & other key stakeholders
• Leading & guiding the broader investment & project teams
The successful candidate will likely have 10+ years’ of relevant experience from an energy/infrastructure sponsor, project finance bank, infrastructure fund or financial advisory with infrastructure and/or renewables exposure. Previous experience leading PPP/Energy/Project finance deals and debt/equity raising experience are both considered highly desirable. Whilst this is a leadership role requiring someone with proven commercial acumen, the ability to lead negotiations and manage relationships, the successful candidate will still have strong technical underpinnings and the ability to dial into the detail of a transaction if required.
Applicants must have full working rights for Australia to be considered.
