Join the Treasury & Markets team at a highly regarded Global Bank, based in Sydney, offering a broad range of capabilities in foreign exchange and derivatives, money market and securities trading to corporations and financial institutions.

This leading Global Bank is seeking an Interest Rate Trader – in a newly created role - to join a well-established and dynamic Asia Pacific team specialising in the local AUD market across Rates products, FX Swaps, IRS, Repos, Futures, Bills and Bonds.  This position is part of the continued growth of the bank within the Australian market and a key hire for the future success of the Treasury & Markets team and the bank in Australia.  

You will be responsible for providing total solutions to support the expansion of corporate clients through specialist AUD market interest rates trading – managing trading positions, risk and book alongside the Head of Markets.  As part of your responsibilities, you will also ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry code of conduct and engage relevant stakeholders, including Relationship Managers and Treasury & Markets to support the bank and provide pricing support and warehouse trading risk. This is a rare opportunity for an outstanding candidate to further develop your career in a dynamic team with excellent breadth and scope of products, including the ability to prop trade and market-make, playing an instrumental role in the development and growth of the local business.

You will have a relevant tertiary degree with 7 - 12 years’ experience market-making and risk-taking in local AUD products (FX swaps, IRS, bills, bonds) in a recognised bank, fund or relevant  financial institution.  Excellent communication and outstanding stakeholder management skills are essential, as is expert-level numeracy and ability to work well individually and as an effective team player. AFMA or RG146 Accreditation is required.
